Six Manychat alternatives in 2026, sorted by the job your funnel does
Leaving Manychat over per-contact billing? Six alternatives compared on price, keyword DMs and inbox, plus who should stay. Prices checked October 2026.
By The Martech Desk staff9 min read
Manychat Pro costs $39 a month for 2,500 active contacts, as of October 2026, and every contact past that adds $0.05. That meter is why buyers look for a Manychat alternative. BetterSocials is our first pick for keyword DMs, one inbox for comments and DMs, and posting on a flat bill, at $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts with unlimited contacts.
For one keyword DM on Instagram or Facebook, Meta Business Suite is free. Stay on Manychat if you run multi-step flows or sell on WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS, where its flow builder earns its price.
Updated October 27, 2026. Every price below carries the month the vendor listed it.
What changed in Manychat's pricing in 2026, and who it hits
Manychat moved to a new pricing model on March 2, 2026. It's the default for accounts created on or after that date, and Manychat is rolling it out to older accounts country by country. The free plan fell from 1,000 active contacts to 25.
Manychat's help center defines an active contact as a person who interacts with you through Manychat in the billing month. The count runs monthly, even on annual plans. Over the limit, automations keep running and the overage is billed automatically.
The list shows each plan on Manychat's pricing page as of October 22, 2026, billed monthly and then yearly:
- Essential is $17 a month, or $14 billed yearly, for 250 active contacts.
- Pro is $39 a month, or $29 billed yearly, for 2,500, with AI features included.
- Business is $99 a month, or $69 billed yearly, for 7,500.
- Advanced is $199 a month, or $139 billed yearly, for 25,000.
Extra contacts cost $0.10 each on Essential, $0.05 on Pro and $0.025 on Business, on monthly billing. So a Pro account that reaches 4,000 people in a month pays $114: the $39 plan plus $0.05 for every contact past 2,500. A Business account at 10,000 pays $99 + 2,500 x $0.025 = $161.50 month to month.
You can set an overage threshold, and upgrading in the same cycle forgives that cycle's overage. Far past the cap, automations may pause. An extra inbox seat costs $25 on Pro and up.
The change hits accounts whose posts pull in more people than their plan covers. It matters less if your flows are multi-step sequences, or if they run on WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS or email, which Manychat covers alongside Instagram, TikTok and Messenger. If you also want YouTube comments answered and posts scheduled from one tool, BetterSocials, first on the list below, does both.
We sorted the six alternatives by the job each does best, starting with the job that takes the most comment and DM work off you: an inbox with keyword DMs, then one keyword DM, chatbot flows, Instagram comment-to-DM, a team inbox and scheduling. If you're switching, three steps keep the move small:
- Count last month's active contacts, so you know what Manychat costs you today.
- Match the tool to your funnel: one keyword DM, or a multi-step sequence.
- Rebuild your busiest keyword first, then move the rest once the DMs land.
Switch before your next big post and the bill stays the same however many people comment. Stay on a contact meter and your best month becomes your most expensive one.
BetterSocials: keyword DMs, one inbox and posting at a flat price
BetterSocials is best for local businesses, creators and small agencies whose comments and DMs bring in customers. It charges by account count, never by contact. Contacts, DMs, comments and keyword automations are unlimited on every plan.
Meta's tool is cheaper, since it's free, and Manychat Essential is cheaper at $17 a month for 250 contacts. What BetterSocials adds at $29 a month for four accounts is posting and one inbox across six platforms. Comments from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages land in that inbox, with DMs from Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
A keyword comment sends a DM with your link on Instagram and Facebook. On TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages, the keyword posts a public reply with the link instead. Other tools read some of these comments too: Buffer and Metricool read YouTube comments, and Later and Vista Social read TikTok comments.
The AI drafts comment replies in your voice, from your past replies and rules you write. With Draft for me, nothing posts until you approve it; with Reply in my voice, questions wait in Needs reply unless you turn on Answer questions too. DMs get the same three settings in their own section, for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs, and when your rules don't cover a question, the DM waits for you.
Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts and one login. Pro is $49, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts, and Team is $99, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates. Those prices are as of October 22, 2026, and every plan has a 7-day free trial with a card.
Moving to BetterSocials means rebuilding your keywords by hand, because it doesn't import flows or keywords. WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, email and X aren't among its platforms. The company says setup takes about ten minutes: connect the accounts, set one keyword and approve a few drafts.
Meta Business Suite: free keyword DMs for a one-message funnel
Meta Business Suite is best for Instagram and Facebook accounts that only need a keyword comment to send one DM. Its comment-to-message automation costs nothing, as of July 2026. When a comment on your post has a keyword you set, the person gets a message reply.
You set it up on desktop. The automation sends a template you write or uses Meta Business Agent. Each keyword automation takes up to 5 case-sensitive keywords, and it waits 15 minutes before sending unless you reply first.
Coverage is Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and comments on your Facebook and Instagram posts. YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads and email aren't covered. For a team, Meta Business Suite lets you assign conversations in Inbox to the people who answer messages.
If one message is the whole funnel, start here. Nothing else on this list is cheaper.
Chatfuel: chatbot flows after Manychat
Chatfuel is best for businesses that want to keep building chatbot flows after leaving Manychat. Chatfuel is a chatbot builder, so it suits a funnel with more than one step.
Manychat's flow builder runs multi-step sequences with conditions, follow-ups and integrations. Meta's free tool and BetterSocials send one keyword DM, and BetterSocials has no flow builder.
Choose Chatfuel over a keyword-only tool when your Manychat flows branch on what people answer. Its plans are on Chatfuel's pricing page.
CreatorFlow: Instagram comment-to-DM for creators
CreatorFlow is best for Instagram creators who only need comments turned into DMs. CreatorFlow is an Instagram DM automation tool that turns comments on a post into automated DMs.
It fits an account where Instagram is the main platform and a comment-to-DM is the whole funnel.
Vista Social: a shared inbox with DM automations for small teams
Vista Social is best for small teams that want a shared social inbox with DM automations. Vista Social has a real social inbox plus DM automations from its Professional plan, which includes two users.
Professional is $99 a month, or $80 billed yearly, as of October 2026. There's a 14-day trial with no card. Vista Social reads TikTok comments, and it has no email channel.
At two people, Vista Social and BetterSocials cost about the same. BetterSocials Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates, while its Creator and Pro plans are one login each.
Later: scheduling first, with DMs answered by hand
Later is best for accounts that mostly schedule posts and answer Instagram and Facebook DMs by hand. Later is a scheduler, and its Conversations inbox holds Instagram DMs and comments, Facebook DMs and comments and TikTok comments.
Conversations start on Growth, at $50 a month or $37.50 billed yearly, as of September 30, 2026. Starter is $25 a month, or $18.75 billed yearly, without Conversations. Scale is $110 a month, or $82.50 billed yearly.
Later has no YouTube or LinkedIn conversations. It fits when posting is the main job and you don't mind answering DMs yourself.
How the Manychat alternatives compare on price and fit

| Tool | Pricing model | Starts at | Best fit | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BetterSocials | Flat, by account count | $29 for four accounts | Comments and DMs in one inbox | No WhatsApp, SMS or email |
| Meta Business Suite | Free | $0 | One keyword DM | Templates, desktop setup, 15-minute wait |

Schedulers sit outside the contact meter too. Buffer charges $5 a channel a month on annual billing, as of August 2026, and its inbox covers comments only.
Our read: leave Manychat for BetterSocials if you want comments and DMs answered from one inbox at $29 a month for four accounts, with unlimited contacts. Leave it for Meta Business Suite if one keyword DM on Instagram or Facebook is your whole funnel. Stay on Manychat if your funnel is a multi-step sequence or lives on WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS.
Manychat has a 14-day trial on Essential and Pro, and BetterSocials a 7-day trial with a card. Run your busiest keyword on the new tool before you move the rest.
FAQ

How much does Manychat cost in 2026?
Manychat Pro is $39 a month billed monthly, or $29 billed yearly, for 2,500 active contacts, as of October 22, 2026. Can I move my Manychat flows to another tool?
